The ten part series – Wedding Stories – will look at the different kinds of relationships which exist in today’s Britain, and a vital component of the series will include following a selection of couples as they prepare for their wedding.
And researchers have asked Wellesbourne’s Avon Studios – whose work has already been featured on national TV and leading glossy wedding and lifestyle magazines – to nominate some of the couples whose weddings they will be photographing in the coming months.
Avon Studios manager Andrew Sheppard said: “It’s a credit to our work that the BBC have asked us to supply them with couples who might want their wedding featured on national TV. Our reputation seems to be growing, and has been helped by the fact that a number of our weddings have been covered in national glossies like Cosmo Bride and You and Your Wedding. We’ve also covered quite a few society and celebrity ceremonies and although the majority of our work is within the Midlands we have travelled as far afield as America, Singapore and the islands of the Indian Ocean.”
Andrew, who has also been an agony uncle for national magazine Wedding Ideas, and his associate photographer Sophie Taylor are no strangers to TV fame, with appearances on national prime time terrestrial TV with Matthew Kelly and on ITV’s Central News under their belt. The pair have also won national awards for their wedding images.
Wedding Stories researcher Kirsty Wickenden added: “Each couple we film will be from very different walks of life, cultures and religions. Some will have extraordinary stories to tell and others will be very straightforward. Each film will hopefully provide a fascinating insight into the world of modern relationships and will chart the highs and lows of planning the most important day in people’s lives.”
